Megan Leonard is a creative producer and festival programmer based in Seattle, WA.  She was selected for the 2019 Sundance Creative Producing Summit, 2020 Sundance Talent Forum, and The Gotham’s 2020 No Borders: US Narrative program with the feature adaptation of her award-winning short film, Mixtape Marauders (dir. Peter Edlund). 

Her short films have premiered at festivals around the globe including Clermont-Ferrand, Aspen Shortsfest and Fantastic Fest. Mixtape Marauders (the short) was awarded Short of the Week’s 2019 Best Comedy of the Year, was nominated for Vimeo’s  2018 Best Comedy of the Year, and was a 2019 Webby Honoree. In 2021 she produced Occupational Hazard (dir. Ursula Ellis), a West Virginia-set body horror about a female coal miner in collaboration with 20th Digital for Hulu’s Bite Size Halloween Season 2, and premiered The Ref (dir. Peter Edlund), a sports comedy about a referee losing control of 2nd grade basketball game, at Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia in Tokyo.

Leonard started working for film festivals in 2010 and is currently the head Programmer for New American Cinema and ShortsFest at Seattle International Film Festival. She has also programmed for Indie Memphis and DOC NYC, served as a mentor at SXSW and Film Independent Forum, and on juries at Fantastic Fest, Cleveland International Film Festival and Palm Springs ShortFest.
